DeAndre Yedlin’s Newcastle exit appears to be edging ever closer, with the Daily Mail revealing that we are ready to cash in on the right-back for £5m.

The same report also confirms that we are ‘on the brink’ of signing Peruvian international Rodrigo Vilca – a 21-year-old playmaker who’s expected to arrive from Deportivo Municipal for a fee worth around £250,000.

He hardly put himself in the shop window in what may turn out to be his last start for the club on Tuesday, but we shouldn’t be hard pressed to find a buyer who will pay the £5million asking price, even considering that he will be available for free next summer.

The fullback has 100 Premier League appearances to his name to go alongside his vast international experience – so it’s no shock that there’s such widespread interest in him, especially in the MLS.

Back to Yedlin, Simon Jones reveals that the defender attracted interest from a host of clubs in Europe and the MLS.

He’s become a fringe player in the Steve Bruce era, with several sloppy performances causing him to fall behind Javier Manquillo and Emil Krafth in the pecking order.

Hopefully the money raised from sale of Yedlin goes straight back into the transfer kitty and Bruce can bring in some fresh faces before the October 5th deadline.
