The video will start in 8 Cancel Newcastle United's Danish youngster Elias Sorensen is prepared to go down whatever route it takes to prove himself at St James' Park.

The 19-year-old made his first-team bow in pre-season during the club's tour of China but could now be sent out on loan to an EFL club with the window for League One and League Two still open.

Having been sent to Blackpool for a disappointing spell last season, Sorensen needs senior action desperately now and arguably new loan manager Shola Ameobi's biggest challenge will be to find a suitable club for the teenager.

Sorensen has spent more time back at the club's Academy with the Under-23s and cut a frustrated figure with the second string this week as they were beaten 6-0 at Reading.

Sorensen is grateful for the kindness shown by fans on social media though.

"I always just get my head down and work hard.

Sorensen netted over 20 goals for club and country last season, after also starring for the Danish Under-21s, but now faces a crossroads in his career.
