Elias Sorensen’s loan move away isn’t going to plan – and he’s not the only one..

It’s early days, but considering Elias Sorensen was absolutely flying at U-23 level and wanted by a long list of clubs last month, his game time so far at Blackpool is frustrating to say the least.

In the four games he could’ve played in over the last few weeks he’s failed to make it off the bench on three occasions – with his only appearance being a 30-minute cameo in their 2-2 draw with Wycombe last month.

The 19-year-old left as the top scorer in the Premier League 2, scoring against senior sides in the Checktrade Trophy and bagging twice in two starts after receiving a call up from Denmark’s U-21’s.

He’s scored 21 goals in all competitions this season, but he’s not getting a look in at League One just yet.

He’ll have to earn his place in the side, but he NEEDS game time to make his loan move worthwhile.

Sorensen isn’t the only NUFC loanee struggling for game time either, with the following 4 players playing a combined 40 minutes of football across a total of 11 games over the past few weeks: It’s early days, but I’m especially hoping the likes of Roberts and Sorensen get regular game time soon given how good they’ve been over the first half of the season at reserve level.

When you see how much Sean Longstaff has benefited from a regular place in Blackpool’s side, it would be a real shame to see Sorensen come back to Tyneside with very few senior minutes under his belt.
