Newcastle United's Spanish speakers are helping Miguel Almiron settle in 'quickly' because they know he is going to give 'a lot' once he's up and running, according to Ayoze Perez.

"The squad is growing - more players, more competition - and that's going to be interesting and that's going to improve ourselves."

"Every Spanish speaker is trying to welcome him to feel like a very warm welcome so that's what we're trying to do," he told NUFC TV.

The squad are based at a familiar setting, La Hotel Finca, near Alicante and the break worked wonders for Newcastle last season when Benitez's side won three successive league games against Huddersfield, Leicester and Arsenal upon their return.

Although he lived in the US for a couple of years, Almiron does not speak much English so it has fallen to Federico Fernandez, Javier Manquillo, Florian Lejeune, Salomon Rondon, Joselu and Perez, in particular, to help him settle in.

Almiron made his debut from the bench at Molineux on Monday night and caught the eye with an energetic cameo midway through the second-half as Rafa Benitez threw on some fresh legs.
