Isaac Hayden: I am struggling to see why Wolves are seventh in the league

Isaac Hayden has claimed he has no idea how Wolverhampton Wanderers are seventh in the Premier League after Newcastle United were denied a precious away win at Molineux on Monday night.

Willy Boly’s late header cancelled out Hayden’s earlier strike and it was the second time this season that Wolves have scored in injury time against Newcastle, after Matt Docherty scored the winner at St James’ Park back in December.

On both occasions, Newcastle’s players felt they were the better team and Hayden could not resist questioning how Wolves have got so high in the table.

“If I am being brutally honest, I am struggling to see why they are seventh,” said Hayden, who has returned to Newcastle’s starting XI even though he has wanted to leave the club in the last two transfer windows.

“We have given them two good games this season, one at home and one away.

We have come out of them both thinking we deserve a lot more.

“But the table doesn't lie, they have done well against other good teams, so they deserve to be where they are, but it is disappointing really.
