Miguel Almiron admits he would love to score that first goal for Newcastle, and concedes it'll be a 'very happy day' for fans when he eventually gets it.

Speaking to the club website, Almiron said: "I just need to get that first goal but you know what's important - is that the team are playing well.

But holding City meant that it's now six games unbeaten at St James' Park, and Almiron was impressed with his side's ability to come back - twice.

Almiron teed up Jetro Willems to level the scores at St James' Park as United held the Champions Man City to a draw - severely damaging Pep Guardiola's chances of reclaiming the title this season.

There was huge applause around the stadium when it was confirmed Almiron set-up United's first goal - and the player himself was happy to help out.

The former Atlanta man is yet to open his account for the Magpies since his January move to the Premier League.

"So I think when it comes, it will be a very happy day for Newcastle United supporters."
