An abysal time for NUFC Academy side with no points since 1 September but today a massive boost after result against Manchester City.

The Newcastle United Academy side travelled to Manchester City for their first league match of the season.

Manchester City were the visitors earlier today and dominated proceedings with 65% possession (as per the Man City official site).

Eventually though the pressure told and on the hour mark Henri Ugunby put Man City ahead, with it then looking a case of how many.

Hopefully the NUFC Academy team can take heart from this for the rest of the season, especially with Sunderland up next, that Under 18 derby played next Saturday when the Mackems visit.

In the four and a half months since beating Sunderland on 1 September, the NUFC Under 18s have lost every league match.

The record reading over the past half dozen league matches: Played 6 Lost 6, goals forĀ  7 and goals against 38.
