Newcastle United's summer transfer plans will now be very different following the collapse of the club's takeover.

A summer of spending now looks to be some way off, but there is still some hope of a notable signing of two.

At least that's as far as the bookmakers are concerned with the Magpies mentioned as a possible destination for some very good players in the betting odds.

To see just who Newcastle are fancied to sign, we took a look through Sky Bet's transfer specials section.

Here's what we found.

Tottenham looks his most likely destination at 4/6 and then West Ham are ahead of Newcastle with odds of 7/1.

David Brooks - 8/1

Another Bournemouth star who could be on the move this summer, David Brooks is looking most likely to join Leicester if the bookmakers are to be believed, Brendan Rodgers' men priced at 3/1.

Bookmakers believe the attacking midfielder will stay in London with Crystal Palace priced at 4/5, ahead of West Ham at 7/1 and Tottenham at 8/1.

Then come Newcastle at 12/1, along with Premier League newcomers Leeds.

Gareth Bale - 20/1

Though the race is a tight one with Arsenal and Chelsea at 5/1, West Ham at 6/1 and Leeds at 14/1.

Newcastle are behind all those at 16/1.

Philippe Coutinho - 16/1

Another long shot is Barcelona reject Philippe Coutinho who spent this season on loan at Bayern.

Surprisingly, the German club are not listed in these odds, but a number of Premier League clubs are.
