Newcastle United are yet to offer supporters any financial respite during the chaos caused by the virus pandemic.

A statement from NUST read: "We call on Newcastle United to suspend all Season Ticket renewals and all payments on future Season Tickets with IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

"We therefore reiterate our call to Newcastle United to provide relief and support to its own supporters by suspending all season ticket renewals and payments with immediate effect."

On Wednesday morning, fans started to confirm that transactions to take the full amount for season tickets for the 2020/21 campaign were showing on their accounts.

Toon fan Chris Cossey posted on Twitter: "Season ticket money came out this morning £624, really knackered me this has during this very difficult time, you would of hoped that NUFC would of been more understanding and helpful, evidently not."

A Brighton statement read: "The total cost of the season ticket would still be charged but spread over eight monthly payments from August.

"We appreciate the uncertainty of the current situation for many people, and we are pleased to offer supporters the opportunity of a three-month payment holiday to try and help alleviate some of the worries our season-ticket holders.
