Carlisle United boss Steven Pressley insists Newcastle United are "very happy" with the club's treatment of Elias Sorensen - despite his lack of playing time.

“But they’re very happy with his treatment here and they’re happy with how we’re going about things, but like any club that puts a player out on loan they’d like him to play more minutes.

Speaking to BBC Cumbria, Carlisle manager Pressley confirmed he had recently discussed Sorensen's progress with the Magpies' loan co-ordinator Shola Ameobi.

Despite the striker's lack of gametime, Pressley is adamant United are "very happy" with his treatment at Carlisle.

“Of course they want him to be playing more, but they told me they’re really happy with how he’s been treated and the additional work he’s doing.

I spoke to him in person when he came up to watch him in the EFL Trophy game against Wolves.

In terms of game time of course they [Newcastle] will be disappointed.
