Newcastle boss Steve Bruce says he is facing a decision on what to do with promising young goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

Woodman is currently on loan at Swansea where he has played every league game for manager Steve Cooper.

The Swans have ambitions of making it to the playoffs and are four points behind sixth-place Cardiff City.

At Newcastle, Martin Dubravka is the No 1 with Karl Darlow is deputy.

And this week, Newcastle agreed to sign Mark Gillespie on a free transfer to become their third-choice keeper.

Woodman has spoken of his goal of eventually being Newcastle's first choice but his path is currently blocked.

The 23-year-old also has just one more year left on his contract, leaving Newcastle with a decision over whether to cash in on him or extend his deal.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Newcastle's visit to Bournemouth, Bruce admitted the club will need to make a decision on what to do with Woodman soon.

"Gillespie's signed, and will be part of the squad next year; he's obviously not allowed to play no," Bruce said.

"I think the club know and the fans know that I absolutely love it here," Woodman told the BBC.

"I would love to carry on next season. When you are enjoying your footy and enjoying where you live, it makes life so much easier.

"But in football it's not really up to the player's choice, it's about the clubs."
