Newcastle United fans have seen another day go by without the approval from the Premier League passing through Amanda Staveley's takeover of the club.

With the buy-out now into the 13th week of the owners and directors test - frustrations are growing from all sides of the deal, and even within first team camp itself.

The lack of clarity means that planning for a transfer window which will already be difficult to manoeuvre in due to COVID-19 is to become increasingly harder with every day that passes without a decision from the Premier League.

Here's Tuesday's round-up.

Premier League chief executive answers questions on the takeover

Richard Masters was facing questions from the Culture committee today and didn't shy away from answering questions on Newcastle - even if his responses remain cagey.

In truth, there's little he can say without breaking the confidentially surrounding the deal - and he made that clear to the MPs asking about the buy-out.

He reaffirmed that there is no time scale, every takeover is different, beout Q is no longer on air, and that he would like to see the test into the sale concluded 'shortly.'

A defeat to Steve Bruce's side would leave the Cherries in the relegation zone with several of their remaining games against the top six.

With United all but safe, there's been the suggestion that their players will be on 'the beach' but Howe rejected this notion - spelling out how impressed he's been with the Magpies.

Confirming in his pre-match presser that Matt Ritchie and Allan Saint-Maximin are doubtful for the trip to the South Coast, Bruce was clear that he plans to rotate some players.
