Wolves legend Steve Bull gives his verdict on Wolves 1 Newcastle 1, as no sympathy for the Magpies.

Steve Bull is a Wolves legend and not surprisingly he had little sympathy for Newcastle United when reflecting on Monday night’s dramatic finale.

His view on the game overall was that ‘Newcastle probably had a 15-20 minute spell where they were on top but we controlled the rest of it.’ As for that late equaliser, Steve Bull felt Newcastle brought it on themselves.

Older Newcastle fans will give a shudder when they hear the name, as Steve Bull was an excellent striker back in the day, including coming to St James Park on New Year’s Day 1990 and scoring all four as Wolves won 4-1.

Steve Bull taking to the Express and Star: “We are on 39 points after the 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Monday – a game which I feel demonstrated the progress we have made over the course of the season.

Great loyalty and something you are very unlikely to see these days, as Steve Bull could have moved on to any number of clubs who wanted him.

“Newcastle probably had a 15-20 minute spell where they were on top but we controlled the rest of it.
