Would Newcastle Really Want Former Arsenal Striker On Loan?

Below is a summary of the full article. Click here for the full version or go back to NUFC Live

There is a report in Team Talk claiming that Newcastle are one of nine English clubs looking to bring former Arsenal Academy product and current Juventus striker Stephen Mavididi in on loan next season.

However, he is far from Premier League ready and there is just no way Newcastle will take this player on loan without an option to buy.

He joined Arsenal in 2014 as a sixteen-year old but never made an appearance for the first team.

In the 17-18 season, he did make two loan spells but did not really impress.

We find this report to be a bit strange as we cannot possibly see why Newcastle would want to bring in the twenty-one year old unless there was an option to buy, which is not mentioned in the report.

He joined Juventus for a fee of €2M but that was based on his potential and his lightning pace.

We found the following tweet from a Bleacher Report columnist about Mavididi in August of last year when he moved from Arsenal to Juventus: I guess that about sums up the player.
